Problems with Filming

Blogged by Anya

This weekend we experienced some problems with getting footage for our trailer.
We had planned to do the majority of our filming over Saturday afternoon and Monday morning but were let down by cast members at the last minute.
We had planned to film our 'party scene' on the Saturday but were unable to do so as many of the people who had agreed to be in our trailer were unable to get to the location.

Our solution to this is to film our party scene in woods closer to where our cast live. This may mean that we have to film half of our cast in Fox's Forest, Cosham and the other half in Gundymoor Woods, Crookhorn/Madam's Copse, Hambledon (our original location).
We had also intended to film our main character's scenes on Monday morning (today) but our actor had to cancel due to getting a shift at her work.
We hoped to resolve this by using a different person in our trailer but we were unable to find someone at such short notice. Instead, we must either find a new main character that is free when we are or find some kind of lighting, such as a flood light, so that we can film in the evening.

Similar disruptions also happen in Hollywood. The filming of Terry Gilliam's "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" was on hiatus after the death of Heath Ledger. He was eventually replaced by Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law. The use of three actors was possible because of the fantastical nature of the story.
Our problems with filming were not so drastic and fortunately, we have not filmed anything with one actor and are having to change but that fact that there are problems with filming big productions makes us feel hopeful about the difficulties we have faced with our footage.
